We had already completed several successful projects with the client before we were commissioned to design a new home near Sumner Beach. We were bought in right from the project inception through to construction, with several schemes explored in the process. These schemes involved value engineering carried out throughout the process.

Of note is the large retaining structures developed on a complex steep site. The access constraints resolved by engineered masonry walls with concrete tie beams and rock anchors.

Increased durability requirements were added due to the proximity to the sea, which meant corrosion resistance coatings needed to be added to protect the supporting structure.
